ABOUT US

HISTORYLocke House

Ms. Rankin founded Law Offices of Ann Rankin in 1986 to provide affordable, high-quality legal services to common interest development associations. The firm currently has three attorneys and one paralegal, as well as a dedicated support staff.

In 1987, Ms. Rankin purchased the Locke House in Oakland, California. She performed extensive renovations on the building and succeeded in having it converted to commercial use, and placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Law Offices of Ann Rankin is now housed in this building. Ms. Rankin has rehabilitated several other buildings as well, as a principal. This kind of "hands on" experience has given her special insight into practical problems facing owners and associations who must deal with problems arising out of improper building design and construction.

ADVANTAGES WE OFFER

As you're certainly aware, as Association Managers, Board Members, and Property Owners, your job has become increasingly complex in recent years. And you probably need legal help - both with routine and special concerns - much more than ever before. If so, we'd like to mention some of the advantages we can offer:

EXPERIENCE. All our attorneys have at least 10 years experience in real estate and construction law, plus vital areas like insurance and contracts. One of our attorneys has practiced as a Civil Engineer, and one is a licensed Real Estate Broker. This means they can help you prevent problems, as well as solving them more efficiently

SUCCESS. In construction defects disputes, we've usually recovered repair costs along with legal/consultant fees. Often, this has been achieved without costly trials. But where court battles have been unavoidable, we've won those, too.

AFFORDABILITY. We do our best to minimize your costs while maintaining the highest quality. To this end, we keep rates reasonable, and use teams of experienced attorneys and skilled paralegals for maximum cost efficiency.

RESPONSIVENESS. You'll find us large enough to provide full capabilities, yet still ready to offer attentive service: quick answers to questions, prompt updates on work status, and more.

If your organization now requires counsel, or anticipates a future need, we hope you'll give us a call. We'll be pleased to meet with you, free of charge, to review your situation and discuss your concerns

We look forward to meeting you.
